All about Paul…

My name is Paul downes

I have over 35 years driving experience,for the first 7 years I owned a small transport business.

I sold this business to emigrate to Australia which was short lived for family reasons. I then returned to England and went on to buy and run a Hackney carriage for 7 years to which I saw no future.

I then trained to become an engineer in the ATM industry which is where I remained until I found my objective in life was to become a driving instructor.

I am patient, honest and motivated to succeed in life.

Q & A

1. What did you do before becoming a Driving Instructor?

Before becoming a driving instructor I worked as a ATM engineer for 17 years.

2. What has been your most interesting moment, while on a driving lesson?

My most interesting moment whilst on a driving lesson has got to be in my foundation training with Leanne, (our head of training) when I had to dual control her ! very daunting considering I put her on such a high pedestal.

3. What has been your best, personal achievement so far?

My best personal achievement so far has to be, how far I have come since passing my part 2 , I know this is down to the commitment and support I have from insight2drive

4. Did you pass your Driving Test first time?

I passed my driving test on the 1st attempt having only four professional driving lessons before .

5. What hobbies do you have?

My hobbies include: playing and being there club secretary for a local pool hall called JJs , I am a season ticket holder for my beloved Liverpool football club and also have a love for all cars and motorcycles
